Hello My Name Is...

<Ms. Kessala Dorsey>

Hello! My name is Kessala (Kess-uh-luh)  (Polk) Dorsey, and I have been teaching at Lakeside Academy for 6 years in 3rd grade. I taught at Woodmore Elementary School for 2 years in 2nd and 3rd grades.
I was born and raised in Chattanooga, TN. I graduated  from The Brainerd High School in 1995 (Go Panthers)!  I am a proud 1999 graduate of  Knoxville College, an HBCU  in Knoxville, TN Established 1875 (2nd generation). There I received a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a Marketing concentration. After accepting my true calling (and following in my parents' footsteps), I returned to Chattanooga  in 2009 and enrolled in UTC to obtain a 2nd bachelor's in Early Childhood Education and simultaneously obtained my Master's in Early Childhood Education in 2011. I also have obtained my middle grades 4th-8th certification.
(Possibly 9-12)
When I'm not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my son who is 17 year old senior, and aspiring aerospace engineer! :-), my well decorated Lieutenant Colonel brother,  as well as my extended family. I enjoy serving at New United Missionary Baptist Church in the Christian Education, Choir and Drama/Dance Ministries. I love to create home decor, party/event decor and craft.
